Philippi Counselling, Southport is a Christian counselling agency offering friendly and professional counselling to adults, children and families, whether they have a faith or none at all.
Our counsellors work on a voluntary basis and there is no fixed charge for counselling; however we do invite donations, all of which go towards the running of the service.
We work to the Code of Ethics and Practice of the Association of Christian Counsellors, and as such our counsellors are required to receive regular supervision.
The counselling process has lifted me, we worked together around my problems, and I learned to accept the hurt and pain I had experienced, rode the ‘blips’ and we came up with plans that I could put in place to make me stronger and avoid pitfalls in future situations. It was a very subtle process, always at my pace but stretched and challenged me at times. The benefits of counselling have strengthened me and truly turned my life around.
We first attended counselling when our marriage was at a very low point and communications were almost nonexistent. The counselling really helped us to focus on us again and to begin to open up and talk to each other in a real and constructive way. We still have a long way to go and a lot more work to do, but without the counselling we wouldn’t have made it this far.
